The beloved Yorba Linda Adventure Playground, a longstanding city staple since the late 80s, required a revitalization. Compliance with new safety codes was essential, while preserving its iconic status within the community. The goal was to create a dynamic play space that not only met contemporary safety standards but also catered to the community’s evolving recreational needs.

In collaboration with RJM Design and the City of Yorba Linda, Landrec conceptualized a unique adventure play space. Our design centered on a natural rock-themed splash pad, offering diverse water experiences, from towering boulders to a double waterfall archway. The splash pad is a haven for young children, toddlers, and parents alike to stay cool in the summer heat. To continue with the adventure theme, we introduced a dual timber aerial way with a 100-foot zip line for exhilarating races for kids and adults. The pièce de résistance? 2-3 story tall towers boasting exciting climbing challenges, three extensive rope bridges interconnecting the towers, carefully crafted to comply with safety regulations while ensuring restricted entry points into the private area.

Now, children and adults alike ascend several stories above ground, conquering fears of heights while soaking in breathtaking views of the Yorba Linda community. This space encourages everyone to confront their fears, get a good workout, and relish adventure within a secure, controlled environment, fostering a sense of triumph and enjoyment in overcoming challenges.
