Custom Climbing Nets

Custom Climbing Nets: Landrec® Architectural Play

Landrec® Custom Climbing Nets turn open space into play space. A net can span a loft opening, fill a stairwell, become a floor between two levels or hang as a lounging hammock. Because every home and site is different, each net is designed for the space it will occupy.

Nets can be ordered on their own or designed together with a custom slide. When the two are planned as one feature, the net becomes the way up and the slide becomes the way down.

Where a Custom Climbing Net Fits

• Loft and catwalk nets: span an opening between upper floors so kids can cross, climb or relax above the room below.
• Net floors: replace part of a solid floor with a net that keeps light and sightlines open.
• Stairwell nets: fill the void beside or above a stair and create a climbing route between levels.
• Climbing wall nets: a vertical net that leads up to a loft, a platform or the top of a slide.
• Lounging nets: a hammock-style net for reading and resting.

Net Materials

Our nets are made from either steel-core fiber rope or high-tenacity polypropylene (HTPP) netting. HTPP is lightweight and highly resistant to abrasion, and it holds up well to moisture and chemical exposure. Color and mesh size are chosen to suit the space and the age of the climbers.

Designed With Your Slide or On Its Own

• Slide and net combination: the net and slide share anchor points, guarding and landing zones, so they are planned as one structure.
• Net only: if you already have a slide, or a slide doesn't fit the space, a net can still turn a loft or stairwell into play space.
• Structural review: a net puts load into the framing it is anchored to, so Landrec coordinates structural review before fabrication begins.
